Lucy blinked and pulled away from Ike as she felt the lights flicker on. She looked at Ike whose face was rather flushed and he had her lipstick on his cheek. Lucy let out a small giggle and wiped his cheek.
"Good movie huh Lucy?" he asked and gave Lucy a killer smile.
"Oh yeah it was excellent," Lucy grinned as she got up with Ike to leave. They walked out of the Movie Theatre and back into Ike's car. Lucy looked out of the window and wondered. 'Is Ike going to speak to Taylor at all? He said he wouldn't tell him he knows, but I know Ike will treat Tay differently now.' Ike noticed Lucy wasn't speaking.
"Hey Lucy, what's the matter? Is there something else you wanna tell me?" Ike asked slightly worried.
"Um, well, I dunno. I mean are you going to talk to Taylor?" Lucy faced Ike and saw traces of hurt still in his eyes. Ike seemed uncomfortable and he adjusted his sitting position.
"Well, Lucy. I have been thinking of that myself. I will have to eventually, but I have promised to you that I won't say anything that I know." Ike said still feeling uncomfortable with the thought of Lucy being with Taylor.
"You know I am very sorry, Ike. I just wish oh I dunno." Lucy slumped back into her seat and stared at the passing scenery." Lucy let out softly
"I know you are." Ike mumbled.
Taylor walked into the backyard and climbed into the tree house. It was built very well considering him and Ike did it together for Zac. Taylor started to remember all the good times the brothers and the family had spent together. 'I wish, oh god, that I haven't screwed up really bad. If Ike knows, will he forgive me?' Taylor sat on the hard wooden floor and stared out into the sky. Taylor knew he would have to talk to Ike sooner or later, he just wished it were later, much later.
Zac crept up behind Taylor and watched him climb into the boys' tree house. Taylor and Ike has always told Zac it was his and it should be called Zac's tree house, but of course Zac would never listen to them. Zac watched Taylor for a few minutes trying to understand what is really happening with Taylor. Zac suddenly heard a voice beckoning him into the kitchen. As Zac approached the door to see whom the voice belonged to he was grabbed as by two younger girls. Zac smiled
"Hey Jessie, Hey Avery, whatcha doing?"
"Nothing, we wanted to know if you would help us pack for Maine?" Jessica asked with her mouth wide open. Avery nodded and pulled on Zac's khaki shorts.
"Of course, I would! Let's go last one up the stairs is a poop head." Zac said as he dashed for the stairs. Before he could make it up the stairs he felt someone grab his shoulder causing him to almost slip out of control on the rug below his feet.
"Zac! How many times have I told you no running in the house!" scolded Mrs. Hanson. "Get up stairs right now!" Jessica and Avery walked up the stairs past Zac and their mom giggling. Zac grumpily walked up the stairs and headed for the girls' room.
The room was a mess, clothes thrown everywhere, toys spreaded throughout the floor, and the beds weren't made. Zac carefully walked in and made a space on the bed for himself. The girls were throwing clothes around the floor in search of clothes to pack. Zac laughed and dove in searching madly for matching outfits for the girls.
Ike pulled into the Hanson's driveway and opened Lucy's door for her. Lucy stepped out and helped Ike with the bags, which were mostly hers anyway. Ike ran into the house dropping of his two bags and helped Lucy with the other four. Lucy pulled her keys out of her pocket and unlocked the front door. She dropped the bags she had as Stinky ran up to her. He slobbered all over her face. Ike walked in and placed the bags on the floor. He smiled as Lucy wiped her face.
"Hey boy, we got you some treats! Good news, we got you a dog sitter while we are gone!" The furry little dog tilted his head and stared at Lucy. Then he walked back into the kitchen and fell asleep.
"Alright Lucy, I should go start packing and help the others. I'll call you later tonight." Lucy smiled and pulled Ike close to her. She put her arms around Ike's neck and passionately kissed him. She allowed his tongue to enter her mouth and for a few minutes they played a little tongue hockey. Then Ike pulled away.
"As much as I would love to stay here with you, but I really need to pack." Lucy grinned "Ok you can go now. Bye!" Ike walked out the door and waved back to her. Lucy closed the door and picked up all four bags and made her way to the third floor.
"Hmm now where did I leave those suitcases?" Lucy said out loud to herself. Lucy looked around her halfway-cleaned room. She walked past the doorway to her bathroom and opened the closet. Almost barely visible Lucy spotted two navy suitcases at the bottom of her cluttered closet. She pulled them out and plopped them on her bed. She began organizing her under garments and PJ's in one suitcase. She had enough room left to pile her favorite CD's on top of the clothes. Lucy couldn't make up her mind which ones to take since she could only fit three. She decided on Hanson, Jewel, and her 311 CD. After arguing with herself many times Lucy had about 8 outfits to bring with her. She had bought 4 new outfits with Ike earlier that day and found some black boots she liked too. An hour later she had everything ready to go for the next morning. Lucy picked up both suitcases and carried them down the stairs near the front door. A bit tired she curled onto the couch and turned the television on. Lucy felt her eyes getting heavier and heavier until she had drifted off to sleep.
Taylor forced his eyes to focus. He looked up and saw that night had already made itself at home. Taylor tried to remember how long he had been up there. He felt a strong pain in his stomach. 'Oh, I haven't eaten all day!' Taylor stood up almost hitting his head on the low ceiling and climbed out the little exit. When he entered the kitchen, he glanced at the overhead clock, 7:30. 'Whoa, it seemed later than this.' Glancing around he noticied his family must of had dinner without him because of all the dirty dishes left in the sink. Taylor climbed up the stairs and entered his room. He saw Zac packing a huge suitcase, and Ike sitting on his top bunk with Mackie and his knee.
"Hey guys" Taylor greeted the 3 of them and dragged a suitcase out of the closet. Both Ike and Zac suspiscously watched Taylor as packed his belongings. Taylor felt the wait of the stare on his should, he felt awkward still to talk to Ike so he directed his question to Zac. "Hey, Zac? Did you happen to pack anything that was mine?" Zac smiled. "Of course I did, it wouldn't be like any other trip if I didn't." he made a face and stuck his tongue at Taylor. Taylor shook his head and looked onto Ike and Mackie. Ike was bouncing Mackie up and down on his knee causing Mackie to let out giggles.
"Hey Ike, have you packed already?" Ike looked up and gestured towards the door. "Um, yeah my suitcase is over there." Zac walked over near the stereo and turned the dial till he found a song he liked. He heard the voice of Gwen Stefani and left her singing. For a few moments they all did their own separate things, then Zac had finishing packing and left to bring his suitcase downstairs.
Taylor sat on his bed, and begun writing in his journal. Ike looked back on forth towards Taylor and wall. He wanted to rip his throat out, but he knew he gave Lucy his word. Ike grabbed a magazine and started to fumble around through the pages. He heard stomping up the stairs and guessed Zac. Correctly guessing Zac walked through the door letting out a very loud belch.
"Excuse me," Zac said blushing. Taylor looked up and met Zac's eyes, "Your excused," Zac smiled and plopped himself onto Taylor's lower bunk. "So guys wanna do something?" Zac asked appearing to be very hyper.
"Um, whatcha wanna do animal?" Ike questioned, "Hmm, I dunno, that's why I asked you silly!" Zac replied. "Well, I'm going over to Lucy's to see if she's done packing, and," before Zac could finish Taylor sat up and cut him off. "Sure, that's a good idea, let's go." Ike looked up not very pleased at all. "Alright let's go." Ike said. Zac looked at him strangely and shrugged as the three boys walked out of the room and out the door. Zac paused when he heard his father's voice. "Zac, take Mackie with you!" Mr. Hanson called out. Picking up Mackie Zac said, "Yeah dad, hey Mackie, you wanna go see Lucy?" Mackie's face lit up as he smiled. "Yeah, yeah!" Mackie giggling. Up ahead of them Zac saw Ike and Taylor talking to each other quietly. Zac curiously wondered what they were discussing, because neither of them looked very comfortable. He hoped it wasn't about Lucy.
