A week went by and that meant they were a week away from the trip and two weeks into summer. They had all gotten out of school very recently.
Alex and his friend John had woke Amy up by being as loud as they usually were. They would always think of different ways to wake her up besides saying, "WAKE UP!!!" Once they splashed water on her face and this time they turned the radio on REALLY loud. Amy sat up with a startled look. She turned to see them by her stereo.
"GET OUT!!!!" she yelled. They left her room chuckling to themselves. They're too dumb to even turn the radio off....she thought.
John was Amy's age and they used to be going out. That ended years ago though because they were too young to really care. He lived across the street and they had known each other for as long as Amy could remember.
Moments later Amy walked out of her room for some food. "Would you like to join us in a game of Magic?" John asked. "Yeah, sure." Amy replied.
Magic was a card game called, Magic the Gathering. They played the game often. Amy was the only one out of her friends who knew how to play the game. It's a very challenging game and it's interesting to play. Amy had nothing better to do, so she had breakfast, got dressed, got her cards out, and sat down with John and Alex.
That night Amy called Jade to see if she could spend the night. Jade told Amy she could and 30 minutes later she was there. Alex decided to have Mike spend the night also. It was always fun when he spent the night.
That night Jade and Amy got on the internet to look at Hanson web sites. At 2:00 A.M. Mike told them to get off about an hour later because he wanted to use it. They got off and happily offered him the chair Amy had been sitting in.
Amy and Jade went to Amy's room and started talking about the trip. "UH!! I just can't wait. It's killing me!" Amy said. "I don't see why you're so excited. Hanson isn't gonna be there. It will be great to go to there town, but you act like we're meeting them." Jade explained. "Well.......Leave me alone!" Amy joked and ran out pretending to cry.
Jade followed her to the kitchen and they both started laughing. "Oh, we better get to sleep! I have to go to church tomorrow at 8:00!!" Jade exclaimed. "Bummer! Ok let's get ready."
Mike got off the computer and got his bed ready on the couch. Amy got two blankets out for herself and Jade. Amy slept on a chair and Jade slept on the other couch. They all talked for a while and finally went to sleep.
"GET UP!!!" Amy yelled, "IT'S 7:45!!!!" Jade rubbed her eyes and sat up. She walked to Amy's room, got dressed, put on make up, and did her hair in half a ponytail. She walked out ten minutes later and started walking up the stairs to wait for her mom.
Amy looked at Mike and they started laughing. Jade still looked asleep. Amy ran up the stairs and waited with Jade. Bridget pulled into the driveway and honked the horn. Jade left and said bye very cheerfully and actually sounded awake. Amy went back down stairs and fell asleep again on the chair.
Amy woke up and saw Mike just about to snatch her blanket away. Something he often did to her and Jade when he spent the night. Amy got a good grip on it and wouldn't let him have it. He was stronger than her though and he yanked it away. Amy looked at the VCR clock and it read 11:00. She got up and smacked Mike with a pillow. He laughed at her attempt to hurt him. She ran up the stairs before he could get her back. Mike got up and went into Alex's room.
Days went by and all Amy did was, talk on the phone, rollerblade, Think of Hanson/The trip, and make plans with Jade.
Amy's phone rang and she ran to pick it up. She had been expecting a call. "Hello?" Amy answered. "3 MORE DAYS!!!!!!" Jade screamed. "You're becoming more excited than I am." Amy laughed.
They talked for an hour and decided that they had to help each other pack. Jade rollerbladed over to Amy's house and they started to pack. They packed practically Amy's whole life.
"What are we gonna do about music?" Amy asked. "We can borrow Crystal's portable CD player!"
Crystal was their close friend. They called her and she said she would be more than happy to let them borrow it. "Great! We'll pick it up tomorrow." Amy said. "-K-. Bye" "Peace out!" Amy hung up the phone and told Jade they could borrow it.
That night, Amy went to Jade's house to help her pack. She practically packed her whole life too. Amy and Jade each had two bags. Amy's mom called and told her it was time to come home. Amy gathered her things together and waited. Jenni walked in and begged Jade to help her pack. Jade told her she would after Amy left.
Amy got home and saw Alex packing in his room. "You must be excited." Alex usually never packed until the night before a trip unless he was excited. "Yeah, so what if I am?" He asked. Amy rolled her eyes and walked to her room.
Two days went by and now tomorrow was the day. They had to wake up at 4:00 A.M. Amy woke up and looked at her calendar. Tomorrow. Oh my GOSH!!! It's tomorrow!! She thought to herself. She jumped up and called Jade.
"Can you believe it's tomorrow?" Amy asked. "Nope. It's just too hard." Jade said sarcastically. "Hey, my dad left to go pick up the van. When he gets back you have to come over and see it." "Alright, cool!" Amy said. "Ok, I'll call you when he gets home. Laters." "C-ya!"
Amy walked by Alex's room and found that he was gone but saw a packed suit case on his floor. She went upstairs and saw two suit cases in her parents room.
In the afternoon, Jade called and told Amy that her dad was home. "The van is SOOOO fresh!!" Jade said. Amy put on her rollerblades and skated over to Jade's house.
"This is the biggest van I have EVER seen!" Amy stepped inside. She counted the seats. 11!!! "WOW!!" There were curtains on every window, a bed on top, and a TV in the front on the ceiling. Just like Jade explained it.
"I think it's gonna take about two days to get there." Jade's dad (Aaron) said. They lived in Colorado Springs. "We made reservations for the Embassy Suits in Boise City, Oklahoma." Jade blurted out. "Cool!!" Amy replied.
That night Amy slipped into bed at 9:00 and turned on her TV. She watched TV for a while, and then tried to get to sleep. Of course she couldn't get to sleep though because she was excited. She heard her parents turn off their TV. Their room was right above hers and she could always hear them turn their TV off and on. She heard Alex's TV go off and wished she could get to sleep. She watched some more TV and FINALLY fell asleep with it on.
