Mr. Hanson pulled into the Mercury Records parking lot. It was a small section of the main Head Quarters of Mercury Records. Isaac and Mr. Hanson made their way into the building and walked down the corridor and knocked on a door marked 211. Mr. Hanson knocked and soon they heard someone telling them to come in. Isaac looked around, and he suddenly felt very under dressed. The two men who were wearing very nice business suits, looked at ease as through they knew what they were doing. Both Isaac and his father were wearing casual outfits. A short balding man put his hand out to shake it with Mr. Hanson's. The other man, who was slightly taller than Isaac extended his hand out to him. Isaac shook the man's hand, and said a polite hello.
"Have a seat Walker, Isaac. My name is Walter Endor, and this is my associate George Benfield."
"Thank you, and may I ask what was this sudden meeting is all about?" Mr. Hanson asked
"We wanted to discuss the matter of your sons' band of course. We thought that they would want to shoot their new video since, there was such a great demand for their first two." Mr. Endor said
"Wait, slow down, I thought we were going to take a break then go back to Europe to tour a little more." Isaac asked.
"Well we knew that son, that's why we called this sudden meeting." Mr. Benfield said.
The three men went on to talk about this new video deal, but Isaac paid no attention knowing that nothing was final before he'd talked it over with Taylor and Zac. Ah, I never liked these types of meetings, businessmen trying to plan our futures. What about Lucy, if we have to leave to go shoot some video will she come with us? I hope so, but she's supposed to be watching her aunt's house not going off with us. God, I sound like some body's parent!' Isaac's thoughts were interrupted by his father's voice.
"So Ike? How does that sound to you?
"Um, what?" Ike asked dazedly
"The deal to go to Maine to shoot the next video?" Mr. Endor said looking strangely at Isaac.
"You haven't been paying any attention huh Isaac?" Mr. Benfield said with a smirk.
"Sorry, my mind is else where, if Taylor and Zac think it's a good idea then it's fine with me." Isaac said gazing out of the window trying to avoid eye contact with the older men.
"Then you'll get back to us by Friday?" Mr. Endor asked
"Of course, maybe sooner" Mr. Hanson said
They all shook hands again, this time Mr. Endor's had was slightly sweaty, which made Isaac disgusted. Isaac and his father made their way back to the truck and drove the rest of the home talking, about the businessmen's deal.
In the Park
Taylor looked around at all the people walking around and sighed. He sat himself down on a small bench that looked over a pond full of ducklings. He looked over and saw a man and woman holding hands, which didn't make Taylor, feel any better.
I have to keep telling myself that I did the right thing. Ike and Lucy belong together. I mean Ike's been happier with Luc, then well since I can remember. I guess the most important thing is putting my feelings aside. It's more important for them to be happy right? I should just concentrate on our music. Maybe I'll compose a song. Isaac does most of that now, but change is always good.
An extremely furry dog, came trotting over towards Taylor, and started to lick his hand.
"Hey boy, whatcha doing?" Taylor looked at the meager dog. The dog's sad eyes were wide, and seemed to take Taylor in. It looked really hungry. Taylor soon had a thought. He quickly checked to see if the dog had collar or any other type of identification tag. It had neither, and because of its appearance it seemed to be a stray dog.
"Hey boy, would you like a home?" The dog started to lick furiously at Taylor's hand. "Come on boy I know a girl who would love you to have you." Taylor got up from the bench and headed towards home. But before making the trip back, he stopped at a small corner store. Taylor quickly ran inside and purchased a small doggie treat. When he came outside, he gave the treat to the poor dog. The stray dog seemed to be grateful for the small present, and when Taylor once again began heading home the dog happily followed. Back at Lucy's
Lucy sobbed and sobbed. Why did I just snap at Zac? Its not his fault I freaking smoke! Oh I really need to apologize to him, but how should I face him now? How can I face anybody? Before Lucy could get any angrier with herself, Zac walked over to where Lucy was sitting. He put his arm around her shoulder.
Not knowing what to say Zac just sat there with Lucy.
"Zac, I'm sorry for snapping at you. It's not your fault please forgive me," Lucy said still sobbing.
"Of course I'll forgive you, Luce, I just want you to stop." Zac said softly.
Lucy looked over at Zac, her face tear stained. She reached over and put her arms around him. Zac rubbed her back trying to be helpful.
"Come on let's go in the house, Lucy, you need a tissue." Zac said urging her to get up.
"Alright, let's go." Lucy said getting up and wiping her face with the back of her sleeve. They walked into the house holding each other in their arms. They walked in through the backdoor, and soon Lucy was sitting down at the kitchen table. Zac went to the bathroom and got Lucy a few tissues. When he returned from retrieving the tissues, Zac found himself a seat at the table and sat down. As soon as Zac handed her the tissues, Lucy began to blow her nose.
"How do you put up with me, Zac?" Lucy sadly asked.
"It's easy, how do you put up with me? I'm kind of a handful." Zac said chuckling.
"You got that right, but you're a good kid. I look terrible don't I?" Lucy asked.
"Nah, You look fine, just do me a favor stop smoking!" Zac said. 'I have to help her, I can't tell anyone else, she'll hate me!' Zac thought.
"You're the boss! Come one let's watch some TV or something," Lucy said trying to change the subject. They both got up from their seats and walked into the living room. Zac walked over to the television and turned it on, and handed Lucy the remote.
Lucy flicked through the channels until she came across Comedy Hour on HBO. She left the channel on that and soon both Lucy and Zac were cracking up at the jokes. 'I'm so lucky to have Zac. Without this kid what would I do?' Lucy thought. Soon Lucy's eyes weren't puffy anymore, and her face didn't show any signs that she had been crying. It wasn't till around 1:00pm before they both got their lazy butts off the couch; and the only reason they did this was because they heard a knock at Lucy's front door. They both walked down the hallway, and Lucy opened the front door. She was presently surprised to see a cute furry dog at her feet. Lucy bent down to get a closer look at the small brown dog, but when she did this the dog pounced on her and began to lick her face. She could hear Zac laughing behind her, but she didn't think anything about it. She slowly stood up, after petting the dog to see Taylor standing behind the dog. Taylor had a huge smile on his face, and seemed to be happy that Lucy liked her present.
